Cheryl and Gordon – Lochside House Hotel

Lochside House Hotel is a fantastic venue for a wedding, or wedding reception. Cheryl and Gordon chose to have their entire day here, and it was such a success. We were with them for the whole day, from getting ready to the fireworks, and the pair never stopped smiling. Apart from a broken heel – bridesmaid, not bride thankfully – and an event manager that was just a wee bit too rigid on her schedule to allow us to relax at all , it was a prefect day for a lovely couple and Cheryl looked stunning!

This was a fantastic wedding to finish off our last contracted wedding in Scotland. We have turned down so much work it is quite heartbreaking – sorry all you brides to be, we are so grateful for your enquiries and referrals. Seven years building a brand and a reputation, only to relocate 10,000 kms away. But we do have a vast portfolio and a wealth of experience, so starting over will not be so bad as starting up! So looking forward to building the business up in South Africa, what a challenge, what an opportunity!

Cheryl and Gordon, I have begun the task of processing your images and editing your video. While I use a number of video operators, I always photograph every wedding – along with my ever helpful assistant and second shooter – and I post produce all the images. This way I know you will get my very best quality.

Not wanting to drive back after the wedding, we spent a lovely night at a great bed and breakfast nearby. We cannot recommend the The Old School at Dalleagles highly enough. It is a beautifully renovated primary school, with only four bedrooms. Chickens, ducks and geese wander in the grounds. Liz and Mike have have done a fantastic job with this place, and if you find yourself in deepest Ayrshire, give it a try. We stayed in the “Geography Classroom” which has a Superking four poster bed, huge ensuite bath and shower room, and its own lounge area. Such a shame we could not have stayed longer, but a great nights sleep and a superb breakfast, with fresh eggs and home made jams, made this a great way to end this landmark occasion.

Cheryl and Gordon you were both such a pleasure to work with, please enjoy these sample images in the mean time and I look forward to editing your dvd and working with you to design your album.

Michelle and Brian

My goodness, I know that I have neglected this blog but when I checked and saw that my last post was 29th June I was shocked! But I have been so busy. We spent most of July in South Africa, sorting out the wonderful new house and studio, it is nearly ready and looking fabulous. August was full of catching up with brides, taking baby and toddler photographs. And we have been trying to catch up with friends and family. Oh and the small matter of packing up a house and putting most of our worldly goods into storage, except for camera equipment of course! I had to leave the cameras and kit out because we had a wedding at the Lynnhurst Hotel, with Michelle and Brian and another coming up at Lochside House Hotel. The Lynnhurst featured on the TV programme “Four Weddings” and won the categories best food, best venue and best experience, Michelle and Brians wedding day was no exception, with a great time being had by all, despite the weather.

Brian and Michelle have been together for a while, and have a gorgeous wee girl, Brooke, who just loved being her Mum’s wee flower girl on the day and was full of smiles. I thought Michelle looked gorgeous in her dress, a perfect choice from the lovely Elaine at Wedding Wise! Both Michelle and Brian were very nervous on the day, but they soon relaxed enough to enjoy their Humanist ceremony, a simple joyous celebration, conducted by Joe Hughes of the Humanist Society of Scotland.

Michelle and Brian, it was a pleasure to photograph your special day, I hope that you enjoy this images.
