Calendar Girls

“In a Women’s Day event I attended in 2016, the keynote speaker who had breast cancer closed her speech with these thought provoking words, ” As women, we treat our bodies with disdain – often pointing out our imperfections. Instead of appreciating our bodies , we are filled with shame. One of my biggest regrets was always wishing that my breasts were a different shape and size. Had I known that I would have breast cancer and need to have my breasts removed, I would have loved them more. They may not have been magazine perfect, but they were mine. My advice to you is to love every inch of yourself and appreciate what you have. As a woman you are beautiful, no matter your shape, size or colour!”

When I was invited to be part of Calendar Girls to raise at least R10 000 for Cansa and celebrating women’s bodies in all their healthy glory – all shapes and sizes with a group of brave women from all walks of life, races, religions and creeds I remembered the speech and said yes I will do it. I will celebrate every inch of myself and hopefully inspire another woman to fall in love with herself. And for women who have been affected by cancer, the funds raised will ensure that they get help and their dignity and feelings of femininity get restored”.

This is the testimonial of one of these wonderful women, who all agreed to come to the studio and pose for me. I am humbled and honoured to have such women in my life.

The calendar are A4 size. The prints are colour and tastefully done Implied Nudes, meaning that although we are naked, nothing is exposed. The calendar will be available in limited quantities at R200 each. To order, please send me a WhatsApp message on 0797522124. Remember R200 to restore dignity to women suffering from cancer. Thank you in advance.
